Ticks Are Becoming A Whole Year Problem:
- If the daily temperature is between 0°C and 3.9°C it is possible to see ticks emerge. If the daily temperature is above 4°C - ticks WILL emerge. Lately, it is not uncommon to see temperatures above 4 degrees in January and February.
Intestinal Parasites (*HUMAN RISK*):
- We have been seeing a rise in Roundworms and Hookworms in the fecal samples being brought into the clinic. Infected pets and environments cause a risk to other pets and to humans; including children! This is a preventable concern and 1 tablet once a month can remove 99.2% of all the roundworm eggs in the infested pet's feces!
What Do We Recommend To Do About It?
- We like to keep up to date with the product that is going to protect our patients the most! As the warm weather continues the Ticks migrate and as they move around we see a variation in the types of ticks your pets can be exposed to.
- For our canine patients it is a once a month chew that covers all the below parasites
- For our feline patients it is a once a month topical that covers all the below parasites
- We are open to discussing the differences between the different types medications
